Bow-Ya!

Did you know that even though I haven't been blogging, life has gone by terribly quickly?
I'm within 30 days of my due date (although I still think she could come after the due date like her brother) and I'm getting a little on the large side. I actually bought an exercise ball today so I can sit on it and give my poor poor pelvic bones a rest.

Also, since I'm having a girl, I'm pretty fond of hair accessories to show off the fact that she is indeed, a girl.

Pintrest has been one of my best friends. So has my glue gun, and my thread and needle. I've known how to sew a long long time, but I've never really utilized the skill before, unless I was making a blanket.
I'll be linking all the tutorials I've followed under the picture of the actual thing I've made in case you'd like to do it as well :) Since I'm bragging and all...

This pregnancy I've made
 A Carseat Cover

Here's How although I only kind of followed along.. I just got the jist of what she was doing and did my own thing.

a Nursing cover (that I don't have a picture of, or a tutorial.. I just figured it out on my own.

Newborn baby circle skirts

Here's How and they are SO SO SO easy!!! It took me maybe 15 minutes per skirt?

Burp Cloths

No tutorial for this. I just cut out a bunch of flannel fabric at around 10in x 17 in or so, put the right sides together, sewed around the edges leaving a gap on one side, flipped the right sides out and sewed around the edges to close up the gap and give it a finished look.

and Bows.
Lots and lots of headbands/bows/fabric flowers.
For this I kind of sort of figured it out myself, but this is mostly how I did it. although I just used my glue gun and then when it looked wibbily wobbly I cut off some height to make it more even. (here's how)
I really had fun doing this because it's actually pretty easy. the hardest part is finding a way to cut so many circles out. I didn't buy jersey fabric, I just cut up an old high school t-shirt, but it looks darn cute to me
(here's how)

These are super easy, and as you can tell I got better as I practiced. (here's how) You can either attach them to the band or put a clip on them
This wasn't my favorite to make, it's hard, it takes a long time, and as you can see I kind of gave up at the end. It still looks cute, but I'll probably choose other things over this one. The instructions are just off a pin picture, but here's what I had. (here's how)
This one I just followed what you did for the petals for the one above, but instead of sinching the side, I just pulled the bottom together, tied a knot in the thread so it wouldn't come apart, then sewed up the side (you can barely see it's a crease) and tied that off.
These are some of my favorites! (Here's how) although I just put felt on the back and put a clip on it instead of sewing it onto a Headband.
I've posted the tutorial for these before, but they're SO easy! I did this for super saturday (a church craft activity day) and the ladies picked it up quickly. (here's my how with a link to the original tutorial)
These are super duper easy as well! Drew thinks they look like rolled up socks....silly boy. I think they're adorable. (here's how)

I plan on doing even more... because I'm crazy. but the cost of making your own by FAR outweighs the price of buying them!

if you're interested, here's a bunch of things I'm planning on doing sometime in the next little while, if I can :)
have fun!!

Calendar ReVamp

So I got this amazing Calendar for Christmas from drew's grandma.

I LOVE it but I have a calendar already that we change and write on... but I've had my eye on making one of These so I revamped mine!
I printed out Meals From our normal list and ones that some awesome facebook friends have helped me with

 Put them on cute paper
And cut up a magnet from the ones they glue to the phonebook as ads, I save them.
I glued the magnets to the back anddddd
Look how awesome! Dry erase markers work on the metal sheet so I wrote in the dates. It's awesome to have this all done! I'm so excited to make White Enchilada's tonight! weee! (ps. I did this whole thing for FREEEEEEEEEEEE)

Wonderful Springtime and a DI Find!

Today was GORGEOUS!!
I woke up freezzzzing but as the sun came up it melted the snow from yesterday and dried up our front yard.
Porter and I decided that we were going to take full advantage of it so I got myself dressed and put Porter boy in his cute little Jeans and Onsie and Jacket :) He looked mighty handsome
I look horrid since I spent more time on getting him ready than myself....
We went outside and Sat on our porch swing for a while... then we tried grass for the first time since he was teeny tiny I've seen so many kids who literally just pull their feet up so they won't touch it because it freaks them out but not port! He just went for it, loved it and tried to eat the twigs he could get to.
For the most part he just sat up in the grass chilling out.
Lookin adorable as usual
He actually smiled for the camera when I'm not behind it but with how I look I sure wish I were behind it :(
Here's our cute side yard/shed :) I just can't believe how much we live in the country these days.. and how we lucked out finding this house to RENT!
Also I found this in the middle of my grass :)  do you know what it is?? I think it's going to be bulbs that were in the ground and then our landlord laid sod there not knowing :) I'm going to roll up the grass this summer and dig up the bulbs so I can plant them where I can enjoy them ha ha not in my grass
We have our garden all planned out in the back and once we start doing things FOR it I'll take pictures and show you :) I'm super excited.
I've been thinking a lot lately about what I'm going to do as a stay at home mom when the kids are at school or what I can make of my life besides cleaning. I want to do more crafts and gardening with flowers and veggies :)
We'll see how I do.

So speaking of crafts I went to the DI today and discovered quite a find!

I got this roll of lace for 50 Cents
These adorable baby boot/shoes for $1.00
AND
I got this AMAZING birdcage/clock for only $2.00!!

I already know what I want to do with it although it may take me a while to get around to it.
I only get crafty funds every once in a while cause we are still a poor college family and I'm staying home.
One day I'll be rich and be able to buy all the fun things I want :)

Tell me your ideas for  the clock! I'm sure you guys can come up with a better one than me :)

Ps. Proof Port is really crawling now:)

he's that fast:)

Pretty St. Patty's Day (and march madness begins)

ok. first off I'm disgusting...and lucky
there was a sticky substance on my arm and to find out what it is,
I did not smell it,
I licked it.. luckily it was just port's non-puke medicine which tastes like candied bananas.
that happened like 2 seconds ago so I had to add it in..

Being a mommy is so much fun! He looked sooo cute in his shirt and green corduroy pants ;)
yes yes they look black in this picture but believe you me.. they are greeen .
and yes drewface is NOT wearing green and was pinched until he didn't find it funny anymore..
plus a few extra

man I'm going to be all over the place for this.

I weeded our little flower area in the front of our house today
I even went out and bought a weed digger (basically a metal stick you use to get down to the root)
and now it looks like this with our DAFFODILS ( I keep saying dandelions)poking up
AND
I lit up our woodburning stove again yesterday.
Mmm it's like camping in your living room!
I am soo good at keeping that thing going too!

I ran around in the good weather today delivering Visiting Teaching Sheets for Ladies in my ward
It was pretty fun getting to know where everyone lived since I really am still new
and still getting used to this whole Relief Society Secretary thing.

ALSOOOO
MARCH MADNESS IS HERE!
we are HUGENORMOUS Utah State Aggie Fans here.
We go to every game we can
I bought blue eyeliner and eyeshadow for when I go to the games
and they made it into the Tournament again this year
We had Drew's Broha over to watch the game and we had so much fun, Until the game started
I don't know if you watched but it was flipping intense
we did lose... by 5
but it was against Kansas State and they are a good team so honestly I'm proud of them.
Not to mention there were some STUPID calls and neither team was having the best night ever.
but we drew on our faces (drewface tried to make a basketball on one of my cheeks but it looks silly)
and put porter in his Aggie Shirt for the last time since he's now outgrown it.
first I'll show you what happens when I have to do something, the baby needs to be fed and the boys need to play xbox...
good thing porter boy can hold the bottle up himself

Yes they do look like brothers don't they?

Green Monster

I have 2 topics today that include Green things. :)
One is my amazing skills in being a good mommy
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and I wanted Porter to celebrate his first one by
having some proper attire!
I took Some of this
And These

And had drewface draw one of these so I could cut it out and make my own stencil
Then I put them all together on a blank onsie and made this :)
ISN'T IT ADORABLE!
He's going to look so studly in this and I'm soooo beyond excited!
I'll have to snag a picture of him in it before he pukes all over it... boo for baby spit up
Did your kids ever spit up past 6 months??

Also... I'm a little jealous.. I'll admit it.
Drewface has gone crazy gaga over blogging which is a little fun but mostly he's so enveloped in it that I don't exist to do anything but tell him how to do this or that. (at least he talks to me when he's blogging when he xboxes I don't exist period)
But not just that... I won't deny I'm envious of how many people look at his blog.
That's so silly though who cares about quantity when I can have the quality viewership of you guys!
Blah it took me trying to vent to realize that.
I love you guys and honestly he's doing specific interests while mine is just my mini family.
That means that you who are reading this cares about us while those who read his stuff are just into what subject he's writing about.
Fyi it's 2 now. One is Finance things and the other is on Shed Hunting :) (aka. antler hunting)
oh!
after yesterday's blogger question of the day I sat down and really thought about what I was going to do about porter boy.
I came to the conclusion I'm going to slowly wean him...
I'm not thrilled about the idea but I'm not giving him what he needs and I want him to grow like a tree :)
he's so studly and he's getting to be a tank after only getting occasional formula for the last week.
Seriously He's getting thicker legs and heavier weight in him :)
I love picking him up and feeling the difference!
Cute picture time??
ok fine you convinced me.

Before you judge... no... judge. Drew did this for his blog but honestly I won't touch the things and he refuses to wash them. So I Promptly scrubbed his hands and feet... I'm not a germaphobe  mama by any means. I pick the binky off the floor, wipe it on my pants and hand it to him... but antlers?? no way. That's just too far.
Leave me some love!!! I want to hear from you!

Ps. I invented a new word.
Hublog means... hubby's blogs.
so if you see it in a Label or wording or whatever, now you know what it means :)

Project Ideas?

I have this wonderful memory filled porch swing and I'm planning on revamping it come warm weather. I'm trying to get ideas about different things I could do. I have a few ideas already but hey you guys can probably come up with something much better :)
no ideas are silly so let me have it!

Ribbon Flowers :)

I copied this from Cugley again :)
But it's just so darn cute I finally got stuff to make it!
I have been gradually getting little things from the store, first sissors, then a glue gun then some paint and now some ribbon!
soooo
is her tutorial which is similar to the one I copied ... and tried to do myself. but can I note that it's super hard because hot glue dries kind of fast, and my camera doesn't like to focus for some reason.
but here ya go :)
You cut out 5 strips of ribbon for however long the length you want it.
Then you bend it in half and glue the ends together and squash them together when it's cooled enough to not burn you but still be .. squashable

 see. squashed.

then you put a dab of clue on the inside of the loop and stick those together and it looks like a petal :)
 Like this
Stick all 5 together (i stuck them together before I put the middle on but you can do it either way)
The put something cute like a button on it.
and on the back, glue a hairpin thingy on it and VOILA we have a ribbon flower :)
And then a cute picture I took last night

Valentines Cards

I am the sweetest Wife in the whole world. Just so you know.
Valentines day I was pretty awesome since I made like HANDMADE valentines day cards for my husband and then hid them strategically around the house.
Not only am I super sweet but these are the coolest cards and I was so excited to find out how to make them! You can find the real thing HERE.
but honestly I think it's the coolest thing.
If you can't tell, these are Paint swatches
like the F.R. double E free ones you get at home depot or walmart.

 you cut off the letters

and stamp cute things on it
or glue cute things on it

on the back i glued scrapbook paper on and then put a  strip of white over that.
it makes a good spot to write a love note!
mmm
best wife ever
