Why is good yummy fresh produce so freakin expensive. That's right i'm pissed. I honestly so far in this thing have craved nothing more than fruits and veggies (most of them soaked in ranch dressing) and i'm pissed that every time i want something I feel guilty for asking because it's so gal-durn expensive. We're tiny little college students who buy just enough each month to make meals. We don't usually have snacks and that's never been a problem before. Now i need freaking 6 small meals through the day to keep from getting "too" hungry because when that happens i feel sick. so can i just say how mean and bullyish it is that Celery costs 5 bucks when macey's is out of the normal stuff and we have to buy organic celery because we 'dislike' walmart and won't buy any food items there. I mean really. This baby is a health nut and it's sooo good because i'm eating healthy. (most of the time)
here is a list of current ... i won't call them cravings but man do i only want to eat them.
The stuff drenched in Ranch...
- Carrots
- Cucumbers
- Cellery
- Apples (yes it sounds weird, and sometimes tastes weird but strangely good)
- salad
Then everything else i want to eat
- Baked Potatoes (2 at a time smothered in butter and sour cream)
- Berries Mostly Raspberries and Strawberries
- Nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts)
- Grapefruit
- Oranges
- Apples
I want good healthy stuff , and it's not fair that it's expensive.. i guess that's what this rant is about. which is sooo weird because i'm not even in a bad mood, and i didn't mean to sound so whiny.... I just wanted to tell the world that it's mean the good stuff is more than a bag of chips. :( how sad.
So here is my advice, when Macey's doesn't have cheap celery go to Smith's. That is where we shop all of the time because A. you get gas rewards, and B. because we are students you get 5% off your entire purchase. and C. there are 2 of them! Well the is my ode to Smith's, and I love it! And I am jealous that you crave healthy things, I just have to force myself to eat them!
