I had SO much fun today! You've got to wish you were me!
Ok so first I have to show you Trunk or treating which is a thing they do here in utah. I'm not a huge fan but I had to go :) it was nice for port to get a handle on how to do the whole trick or treating thing though
This is my little monster
seriously how ADORABLE IS THAT!
I tried really hard to get a good picture of him (hence the hand holding him still resulting in panicked "but I want to run" face)
I then let him run down the sidewalk. where he found a pine cone. which I let him bring home.
He had fun doing that but didn't really get it. at least I thought he didn't. I'll tell you how genius my tiny human is soon.
Halloween day:
I took drew to school, ran a few errands and then I made mummy pizza. which is super hard because you have to cut the cheese into tiny slices and cheese doesn't like to slice nicely.
so I made it and was super proud of myself so I put olives on my fingers (but i'm not 3 so they split apart when put on my fingers.. especially the thumb one... but i turned it around so it looks perfect)
then I realized halfway through you are supposed to cook everything but cheese and olives a while then put the cheese on so it's actually a mummy not a .. ghost looking thing..... oops. it still tasted delicious with my from scratch dough.
Then we gave porter a pepperoni. which he hated.
Then we went to drew's mama's house and went trick or treating (which is like suuuper different than in salt lake because everyone out there has huge yards so they're all spread out. phew it was exhausting.
the witch and her muggle and then their half blood monster
he was hilarious. he'd go up to the door, smack on it (while I rang the doorbell) then when they bent down he picked out his candy, set it in his bucket and then tried to do it all over again. There was one house where a lady was wearing a white out mask. like an opera mask? she bent down to give port candy, he looked at her, did a 180 and walked back to me without taking candy. then I turned him around and he was hesitant but got his candy, two pieces just for his trouble.
do you see how he's thrashing? he did that if we stopped because he wanted to get to the next house. eager beaver isn't he? also we hit an uneven sidewalk at the end of the night. the stroller stopped suddenly but porter and his candy did not. we couldn't buckle him in because he was too puffy so he went flying on the roughest cement I've ever felt. poor guy cried in his dad's arms all the way back to grandma's
also. you can't tell, but i totally walked all over in heels. yeah. I'm that dedicated.
here's everyone eating and having fun
and then here is an awesome picture that I took a few days ago that I can't get over. he's a stud.
what did you guys do?
Ok so this is totally going to seem like a you-post-a-comment-so-I-post-one-back deal, but I've been meaning to do this since the "didn't you miss me?" type post you wrote because I really did miss your blogging! You are too hilarious!!! Like, I love how you never take things or yourself too seriously (i.e. Porter supermanning out of his stroller...lol sad, but so funny. and most moms wouldn't dare share bc they'd worry so much what everyone might think when really EVERYBODY'S kid falls down/bonks his or her head, scrapes a knee, etc. etc.). I love, love, LOVE your little boy too. He is ADORABLE! Like seriously one of those cute kids that makes me want kids right this instant. I love that he has so much energy and the whole "having to restrain him to take a picture which resulted in this panicked look" line was too funny to me too. I think I love him because he's what I expect our kiddos to be like someday...(if we're so lucky as to get a Porter-esque baby). Anyway, Happy Halloween to all of you and welcome back!!! Glad we're both back on the blogging wagon.
