My Hillarious Genius Child

Let me start off with saying yes. I let my child watch TV and Movies. He has so much energy that sometimes I need a snuggle break or I need a chance to do the dishes without having to chase down all the ones I've already put in the dishwasher (because he steals them). We usually let him see an hour or half hour of tv at night and an hour or so in the morning. It's how I wake up and it's how I get things done. I take him to the park and I make him run around and I read to him... just... don't judge. sigh.
So last night I was making dinner with drewface and Port toddles in and did the most peculiar thing. He says Please (peees) and puts his hands in his armpits like he's doing the chicken dance. I start laughing hysterically and copy him making a chicken noise. While in the middle of doing this act it hits me. In the movie Rio one of the characters does that move A LOT. So I asked "do you want to watch the birds?" He took my hand and let me to the tv so I obliged so he would be entertained while we cook and not beg for food before it was ready.

This morning I went in to  get him up and he straight up looked at me, put his arms in his armpits and says "Beeed.." pauses because he knows that wasn't right and tries again "Birwd". This kid is so smart! (and he has a favorite show which I kind of love.

Also I do have to tell you about the park. We've been going to the park lately because the weather has been so flipping nice! So we started off with the swing and he was NOT used to that sensation. his whole body tensed up and he grabbed the seat anywhere he could but he was sort of bent sideways from being so nervous... I slowed down made as many weee sounds as I could but eventually it was the 14 month old that was at the part as well enjoying the swing to make him chill out. (peer pressure before they can even talk) then he refused to get out of the swing and did awesome! (as long as you don't go too high ) Then i started on the slides. The first day we only had a little while because drew needed the car. We just went on those like 3 foot slides and the first time we went down together, the second he just held my hand and he was so all for it that the third time he went down all on his own with me at the bottom!
Yesterday was the second day and I have to brag he's such a daredevil his favorite slide to go down (on his own) is the giant one. you know the big one you have to climb like 3 platforms to get to and it twists around? yeah he loves that one!

anywhoo. I'm just all beaming with excitement about who this little guy has become. He's got such attitude and such brains I'm enjoying it all so much (lol most of the time)
